Sunset Players prepares to start its 30th season

The award-winning Sunset Players theater starts its 30th season in October with Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park."  The 1967 film version starred Robert Redford and Jane Fonda as a straight-laced attorney and his free-spirited wife struggling with marriage, their lack of furniture, and a six-flight walkup to their tiny Manhattan apartment.  A play about overcoming the odds, it's humorous, passionate, and full of hope.

Following "Barefoot" is Sunset's children's production of "Cinderella" in December.  This year, Sunset intends to involve the audience in helping the Fairy Godmother contend with the rotten stepmother and her daughters.  Will they be happy people?  It's up to you to decide.

In February and March, come see Joe DiPietro's "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change."    The second longest-running Off Broadway musical, is a series of vignettes about dating, marriage, love, and in-laws.

To close out their season, Sunset will produce "Harvey" in April and May.  Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy is about a man named Elwood P. Dowd who has an imaginary friend in the form of a six-foot white rabbit.  This show is perfect for the Easter season.

Sunset Players has won many regional ACT awards, two state OCTA awards, and was once asked to represent the United States in an international theater festival in New Delhi, India.  With a great line-up of shows and an award-winning cast and crew, you cannot go wrong by becoming a season subscriber.

Season ticket prices are $20 for an individual or $30 for a couple while individual ticket prices sell for $9 a seat with discounted tickets for students, seniors, and groups.  Sunset Players, Inc. is located at the Dunham Recreation Center Arts Building, 1945 Dunham Way on the west side of Cincinnati.  If you would like to get involved with an upcoming show, please send them an email at info@sunsetplayers.org or call them at (513) 588-4988.
