Perhaps in a failed attempt to keep up with the Brits, there is a new arrival at the Obama White House somewhat like there was a new arrival at Prince William and Duchess Kate’s house in recent weeks, according to Yahoo! News on Monday.
President Barack Obama has purchased a new 1-year-old puppy which is a Portuguese water dog, just like Bo – the dog the Obamas already have at their Washington, D.C. mansion. The new puppy, named Sunny, made its debut as Bo’s sister on Monday evening.
The news came via social media by First Lady Michelle Obama who messaged on Twitter that she is so excited to introduce the newest member of the Obama family – their puppy, Sunny.
The White House released a video of big brother Bo and little sister Sunny frolicking on the White House’s South Lawn. Photos have also been made available.
According to the White House’s announcement, Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo - full of energy and very affectionate - and the First Family picked her name because it fit her cheerful personality.
It’s assumed that Sunny will join in with First Dog Bo’s duties at the White House – which includes being entertaining at many White House functions such as the Easter Egg Roll.
