One of the many victims of “Catfish,” Sunny Cross has been arrested in Arkansas for driving while under the influence.
Sunny, who starred in one of the most wild and outrageous episodes of MTV’s “Catfish,” was arrested in Fayetteville on Sunday morning. According to TMZ, Sunny is said to have been driving too close to another vehicle, while also driving on the wrong side of the road.
Sunny was released from jail about an hour after he arrest. Her bail was set at $1,055.00.
“Catfish” took the country by storm following its 2010 release into theaters, but it’s been its debut on television which has really elevated it into pop culture status.
Sunny Cross starred on one of the show’s first episodes on television, and her online encounter was one of the more outrageous moments on the show. On “Catfish,” Sunny thought she was talking online to a young, attractive male model named Jamison.
Falling for him via texts and emails, Sunny enlisted the help of MTV’s “Catfish” crew to meet the man of her dreams.
In the end (spoiler alert), Sunny ended up meeting a teenage girl. The girl impersonated Sunny’s love interest—both online and through phone calls—and didn’t show much in the way of immediate remorse when the “Catfish” cameras caught up to her.
