A stationary front to our south will gradually begin to lift northward today as a warm front. Low pressure will move into the lower Ohio Valley this afternoon, tracking south of the area tonight. Today will start off dry and comfortable, however clouds will increase this afternoon and showers and thunderstorms will spread west to east across the area by late afternoon. At this time, it looks like most of the severe weather will be south of our area.

Rain, along with a few embedded thunderstorms, will continue through this evening, then gradually taper off overnight. The rain could be heavy at times this evening.

There could be a lingering shower Thursday morning, then skies will become partly sunny as high pressure builds across the state.

Friday is expected to be sunny and dry with comfortable temperatures and low humidity.

Here is the forecast: For today, partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s. Winds W 5 mph.

Tonight, cloudy with rain and a few thunderstorms likely this evening, then partial clearing overnight. Lows will be in the mid 50s. Winds NE 5-10 mph.

Thursday, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers early, then becoming partly sunny. Highs will be around 70. Winds N 10-15 mph.

Thursday night, mostly clear with lows in the 40s.

Friday, mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70s.

Extended Analysis: High pressure will move across the area Saturday, then shift to the east of the state Saturday night.

Warmer and more humid air will stream northward across our area Sunday, and scattered showers and storms will be possible Sunday afternoon.

Showers and storms are likely Sunday night and early Monday as a cold front moves across the area. Conditions will improve Monday afternoon as high pressure returns to the area.
