After 12 years in Laguna Beach, Sundried Tomato American Bistro’s last day of service at the Forest Avenue location will be Sunday, Oct. 27. Sundried Tomato Café locations in San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente will continue the bistro’s tradition of innovative California cuisine. In addition, Sundried Tomato American Bistros will increase its catering business and will announce expansion plans for new locations.
President Rob Quest did not make the decision lightly to close the Laguna Beach location. It is part of a strategic direction to close its smaller location. “We decided not to renew our lease option,” said Quest. “Unfortunately, the location no longer fits our model because of its size and overhead.”
He added, “We will always continue to grow our brand, keep it fresh and look forward to new opportunities down the road. Most people do not realize that we have always done all of our catering out of our San Juan Capistrano location.”
The catering has been in place for more than 20 years and accommodates everything from intimate dinner parties in the home to charity fundraising galas and exclusive high-end events. Sundried Tomato American Bistros & Catering is a full-service catering arm, including bartending, service staff, and arrangements for florists, linens, specialty cakes and party rentals.
