Summers are hot in Houston. The blazing sun, extreme humidity, and relentless temperatures drive many people indoors from June through September and for good reason. But there is one outdoor event worth considering as you brave the summer heat and it starts tomorrow, July 9, 2014. Here is some background information:
Event: Sundown at The Grove
Location: The Grove, 1611 Lamar, Houston, TX
Date and Time: Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., from July 9 through September 17, 2014.
Sundown at The Grove is back for its third season with delicious beer and food to help make the dog days of summer a little more bearable. Each Wednesday, The Grove will feature beer from a local brewer or a brewery with significant local influence served alongside foods selected specifically to match with each beer. Each week, Sundown at The Grove guests will be treated to a flight of beers from the featured brewery paired with food selected jointly by the talented brewmasters from each brewery and the skilled chefs from The Grove. Brewery personnel will be available to talk beer and guests can enjoy entertainment courtesy of DJ Sun. And depending on individual heat tolerance, guests can hang out on the treetop patio or remain indoors, in the Vista Room, and stay cool.
Tickets for Sundown at the Grove sell for just $15 each and include the food and beer. If there are any wine lovers among us, you can trade your flight of beers for two glasses of wine. Best of all, there is no need to purchase an advance ticket. Just show up on Wednesday evenings, ready to drink. You can purchase a ticket at that time.
Summers can be a real downer for some people but nothing spruces up a bad mood better than great beer and delicious, compatible food. Visit Sundown at The Grove this summer for quick relief from the blazing sun, amazing craft beer, and matching food from this downtown Houston establishment.
