Forest Lawn Cemetery’s popular Sunday in the Cemetery series continues in March. The historic cemetery, located at 1411 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo, hosts these events in its chapel.
- Sunday, March 3rd at 2 p.m. – Genealogy Sunday: Are Your Ancestors at the Buffalo History Museum? – guest speaker Cynthia Van Ness, Director of Library and Archives at the Buffalo History Museum discusses the resources the Museum has for genealogical research, including its obituary index, picture collections, city directories, church records, atlases and more. Reservations are required – tickets are $15.
- Sunday, March 10th at 2 p.m. – Concert & Lecture Series: Chicken Wing Wisdom: Stories of WNY Women at Forest Lawn –speaker Christina Abt tells the stories of how these women changed their lives, their communities and sometimes even the world. Christina is a Western New York newspaper columnist and magazine contributor whose work has been featured in national magazines and in a number of Chicken Soup Books. Kindred, an eclectic folk duo with a Celtic flair, will play musical selections reflecting the eras of these WNY women of Forest Lawn. Reservations are required – tickets are $15.
- Sunday, March 17th at 2 p.m. – Salute To Veterans: Yankee Doodle Comes to Forest Lawn – the group 23 Skidoo presents, Swinging the Oldies, Bourbon Street Style. Reservations are required – tickets are $15.
- Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m. – Buffalo’s Best Restaurants Remembered: The Cloister – known for its décor and superb menu, The Cloister has won numerous awards and was known as Buffalo’s premier restaurant. Speaker Marla Bujnicki, master docent for Buffalo Tours, goes back in time with a display of memorabilia including old menus and advertising. Guests will enjoy a sample of a signature dish from The Cloister. Reservations are required – tickets are $25.
