When she was burdened, she would simply say, “Don’t let your heart be troubled!” And sometimes that can be more than a 30 minute sermon from one of the greatest preachers.
Reading through her Bible, has been such a comfort by just reading the simple verses she underlined.
One such verse is Psalm 105:24. “And He (God) increased His people greatly, and made them stronger than their enemies.” That can be a blessing in a nutshell if you feel that there are those who are against you.
There was another lady who said, “I would rather see a sermon than hear one!” And then today, a dear lady, Barbara, sent me this poem that speaks volumes by way of encouragement to someone who is dealing with difficulties; or just to be used as a reminder that God is always near, and that He always cares for us.
The Bible says that “Words fitly spoken are like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” Proverbs 25:11
When a person says just exactly what a hurting heart needs to hear – it can be as simple as, A.B.C.
