There are a couple of opportunities this week for music fans to help out two Orlando bands raise funds for their next CDs. Even if it’s not possible to help out by donating, just sharing the campaigns and spreading the word can go a long way towards helping them reach their goals.

Orlando band Beebs and Her Money Makers has a new IndieGoGo campaign up and running. They are hoping to collect $20, 000 for their new album and their upcoming documentary. It’s a flexible funding project, so even if the band doesn’t reach their goal by March 30, they will get the money that is pledged. Check out their IndieGoGo page here.

The Kickstarter for Orlando band SoulSwitch continues this week. They are almost halfway to their $10, 000 goal and have until March 6 to raise the total amount or they won’t get any of the money pledged. Visit their Kickstarter page here.

In a different type of funds-gathering contest, Orlando based music producer Brett Hestla is collecting votes to help him win a $25,000 grant from FedEx. With the grant money, he is hoping to create opportunities for bands and artists who wouldn’t be able to afford studio time otherwise. Head over to Hestla’s FedEx page here and vote.

On Sunday there are several notable shows in Orlando. At Dexter’s in Winter Park Orlando band Violectric will be celebrating the release of their debut CD “One.” At the West End Trading Company is the debut show for Orlando band Yorick’s Groovediggers, a new project from Stu Sauce. At the BackBooth is the CD release show for Orlando band Built To Be Broken. Sadly it is also their farewell Orlando show with the band moving to Nashville.
