Last March, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey (“Touched by an Angel” actress) bought to the television screen the stories of the Bible. The characters of the Bible were brought to life on the History Channel. You can see the whole mini-series here:

Now these same two have come together once again to produce a made-for-theatre movie called, “Son of God!” This is sure to be a sell-out. You may wish you purchase your tickets in advance.

This powerful movie is coming to the theaters on February 28, 2014. It tells of the life of Christ in a new and exciting way. This movie was created to bring a positive experience to families, churches, and communities all across the United States. It is being endorsed by many Christian faiths.

There have been a lot of movies made about the life and death of Jesus; but this new movie offers the “Greatest Story Ever Told,” into a new light and for a new generation.

This new adaptation of the birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, (Son of God), is a cinematic storytelling that is both powerful and compelling.

It features powerful performances, exotic locales, dazzling visual effects and rich orchestral scores.

Put aside video games, text messaging, and other routine things and come together as a family and make this movie night meaningful in the life of those you love.

This will help open up the dialogue with your family that can help each one on their own particular level come to know more about who Jesus is, why He came to earth, and the sacrifice He made to give us eternal life.

You may also wish to invite a group of family and friends who do not know the story of Jesus and use this as a wonderful witness to share the Gospel (Good News) to them.

Many years ago, my husband and I took a group of young people to see a movie by World Wide Pictures produced by the Billy Graham organization. It was only a few years later that two of those young people died. I always felt good that we had made that opportunity available to them.

Go as a Sunday School, Youth, or other church organization as a group. Grandparents offer to pay for the movie ticket for your older grandchildren to attend. This could be the best gift you could ever give them.

This could have a great positive influence on the lives of everyone-no matter their current walk with Jesus.

Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah

“When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say, John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, (Peter), for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 16:13-20
