Sundance's Robert Redford joins 'Winter Soldier'

One press panel, one confirmation comes from Robert Redford.

The Sundance Festival founder will be joining the cast of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Redford took time during his time for Q & A for his new movie “The Company You Keep” to supply his role will be:

"Well, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. The head of S.H.I.E.L.D."

AceShowbiz cites that Redford’s reply was toward the query asked by Spinoff Online.

Less than a week has gone by carrying news that the “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” star was in talks for a part in the Sentinel of Liberty sequel starring Chris Evans. He has taken the role of an intel’s director previously for “Spy Game”. That, however, isn’t his reason for assuming the head of S.H.I.E.L.D., according to his own words at the same press panel.

"The Captain America thing is just a very simple thing. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to do something just to be different. Something bold, different. And that felt like a good thing to do. That was it, nothing more to it than that. Well, it's bold in terms of expectations, I guess."

Filming for the movie will start in May. The plot is based on the comic book series of the same title written by well-known comics writer Ed Brubaker.
