Save the date! Area residents, plan to enjoy a day of fun and games dedicated to the dogs. The sixth annual Mutt March is sponsored by the Suncoast Animal League of Palm Harbor, Florida. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the shelter animals.
This pet-friendly free event includes:
- A pledge drive and pet walk
- Dancing with the Paws
- Fido Idol
- Doggie Project Runway
- Ride 4 the Animals
- Pup Art
- Pet themed vendors
- Shopping
- Kid’s activity booth
- Food court (includes vegetarian and vegan selections)
- Beer garden
- Surprise event
Plan to spend the day at the beautiful Highlander Park in Dunedin. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket, sunscreen, hat, water bowl for your pet and, of course, your well-mannered, leashed pet is welcome and encouraged to join in on the fun. You don't have to have a pet with you to join in on the fun. Who knows, maybe you will go home with a new four-legged friend.
If you or someone you know is ready to adopt a shelter animal, the Suncoast Animal League and several other animal rescue groups will have dogs present for adoption.
"That is the main purpose of events like this, to provide opportunities for pets to find a new forever home," said Rick Chaboudy, Executive Director of the Suncoast Animal League.
Please refrain from bringing the following items: umbrellas, tents, canopies, coolers, food, drinks, glass containers or cigars.
Be sure to sign your pet up for one or more of the pet-friendly contests. There will be a registration booth to the right of the stage near the entrance.
