Summertime fun at Laman Library

In addition to the Summer Reading Programs and the Meet the Author Series, William F. Laman Library in North Little Rock has many other exciting activities on tap this summer. A number of fun events are planned for the second half of June.

On Wednesday June 18, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. the Children’s Department will host The Hampstead Stage Company’s production of Alice in Wonderland. The play, based on Lewis Carroll’s famous children’s book, will feature two actors who will each portray several different characters.

Another event that will interest Laman’s younger patrons is story time with Arkansas children’s author Darcy Pattison on June 18, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. The award-winning Pattison has written books for adults as well and teaches writing all over the country via her Novel Revision Retreat workshop.

Exotic animals will make an appearance in Laman’s Children’s Department on Tuesday June 24, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Live Animals! Expert Kory Roberts will entertain patrons with the presentation of various amphibians and reptiles

On Monday June 23, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Argenta Branch on Main Street will host an event for senior citizens called Argenta Golden Agers, which will feature a variety of activities for older adults including music, movies, games, and more.
