Summerfest grounds to hold new modern/alternative rock festival

2010 marks the inaugural year of a new alternative and modern rock festival to be held on the Summerfest grounds during the first weekend in June.

Running from June fourth and fifth (the weekend formerly occupied by the now-defunct Riversplash), tickets to the festival will cost $25 per day or $40 for a two day pass in advance, or $35 per day at the gate. Ticket sales begin March tenth at 10:00AM at both yourmusicfest.com and Ticketmaster, or by calling 1(800)745-3000.

The festival organizers are reaching out to the public for help with naming and branding the festival. Submissions will be accepted until midnight on Sunday, the 21st of February, and prize packages will be awarded to the top three finalists as well as the grand prize winner. Voting is open from March first through March tenth, and the winner will be announced on the afternoon of the tenth.

Ideas may be submitted here.

More details forthcoming as they are made available, and more information can be found on both the YourMusicFest and Summerfest websites.
