Summer Tradition: Oklahoma City PRIDE Parade is a Family Event Part II of IV

OKCPRIDE Parade was Sunday afternoon, well attended by all ages, and many families was a bright streak of color and clever down North Classen Boulevard.

The OKCPride Parade runs from NW 30th street, down North Classen Boulevard, then West at 39th thru the intersection of North Pennsylvania.

Famous individuals, like the first couple to marry in Oklahoma, were married by the Cheyenne-Arapaho http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/2013/10/23/gay-couple-weds-okl... and http://www.c-a-tribes.org/tribal-news ongoing congratulations were extended to this celebrated couple Jason Pickel and Darren Black Bear as the Grand Marshalls of OKC PRIDE 2014.

Crowds gathered on lawns and in the median along Classen and NW 39th to enjoy new and old friends, live music, dancing, flag routines, beaded MardiGras style necklace tosses, candy, bubbles, waterguns, well wishing ice pops, sticker, sticker, sticker and float upon float with community celebrities.

This year's event was also heavily attended by local groups some might consider unlikely in the Bible Belt, who support removal of #DOMA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_Marriage_Act, http://www.freedomtomarry.org/states/entry/c/doma and "vote with their feet" to support pushing the envelope with progressive human rights in Oklahoma.
