The summer of 2014 is moving toward its conclusion. That is kind of a bummer, but there are still some great concerts scheduled for the Hollywood Bowl during the next two months presented by the LA Phil. As a matter of fact this coming Friday, August 8th and Saturday, August 9th Gladys Knight and Kool & the Gang will be on the stage performing their hits and giving the crowds some memorable moments. Gladys Knight has won seven Grammy Awards and has many hit records including: Midnight Train to Georgia, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, If I Were Your Woman and Neither One of Us just to name a few.
Of course, Kool & the Gang came out of New Jersey and had a slew of hits such as: Hollywood Swinging, Too Hot, Ladies Night, Get Down On It and a song that has become somewhat of an anthem, Celebration. They will have you dancing and singing, jumping and shouting as they play their soulful and funky style of music. By the way, this is the 40th anniversary of the group. Every seat at the Hollywood Bowl is a good seat. Even at the very top seat there is a panoramic view of the whole arena. The big video screens give you a great shot of the performers on stage. .
One of the things you have to remember when you go to the Hollywood Bowl is to bring a jacket because it tends to get cool at night. Feel free to bring a picnic basket, a blanket, relax and enjoy because the concert will do the rest. You can purchase tickets for the show by going on www.ticketmaster.com. There are more great shows coming to the Bowl over the next two months including: Smooth Summer Jazz on Sunday, August 17th at 6pm, Elvis Costello and Ben Folds, Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th at 8pm and Trey Anastasio, Friday, September 26th at 7:30pm. If you get the opportunity, go out and see one of these shows at the Hollywood Bowl.
