Having recently enjoyed a sangria with a base of sake prepared by celeb chef, Ming Tsai, at the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago, I'm all about the Japanese spirit. You will be, too, after enjoying a wonderful Summer of Sake dinner at the fabulous Shaw's Crab House in Chicago.
The second annual Summer of Sake Dinner, held Sunday, July 20, 2014, features Chef Naoki Nakashima cooking up a four-course dinner of seasonal cuisine, all perfectly paired with four different sakes. In addition, guests will receive a lesson in sake from expert Lindy Mangubat of Southern Wines & Spirits. Lindy will guide the evening's discussion and cover topics from sake basics to fun tips on this Japanese brew. Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. as you're greeted with a refreshing sparkling sake; the first round of food will be served at 7 p.m. The cost is $65 per person (excluding tax and tip), reservations are requested and can be made by calling 312.527.2722.
The menu for the evening includes:
