Summer means lemonade stands, even at one MA restaurant

Summer and lemonade stands go hand in glove and one MA restaurant, Blue Ox, an upscale casual dining establishment in Lynn, is celebrating the season with a special pop-up starting Saturday, June 21, that offers a unique tribute to the old-fashioned lemonade stand.

The brainchild of GM and Beverage Director Charlie Gaeta, the pop-up offers four unique takes on summer's favorite drink - lemonade - for this one weekend, but, Gaeta confesses, could possibly pop up again throughout the summer.

He will be blending freshly-squeezed lemon juice and house-made simple syrup with the following fresh fruit combinations, each of which are available as a virgin drink for $4, or with each guests’ choice of premium tequila, rum or gin – for $11. Each lemonade drink is blended and strained to order.

The options include:

• Watermelon Lemonade - pulverized watermelon (strained), fresh lemon juice, house-made simple syrup (premium tequila, rum or gin optional)
• Cucumber & Orange Blossom – orange peel essence, cucumber water, fresh lemon juice, house-made simple syrup (premium tequila, rum or gin optional)
• Cantaloupe - fresh cantaloupe (crushed and strained) fresh lemon juice, house-made simple syrup (premium tequila, rum or gin optional)
• PIMM’s Lemonade – infused with classic fruit flavors commonly found in a PIMM’s cup – including fresh mint, strawberry and house-made local rhubarb syrup (which itself is infused with juniper)

Fresh and fruity, and satisfying, these drinks bring the essence of summer to customers in a glass. Come quench your thirst!
