Summer green smoothie helps budget your calories

Are you trying to budget your calories, and still have a great tasting light meal, or snack?

Try a green smoothie! Quick and easy to make, if you prep your greens ahead, and freeze them.

Blend up a bunch of steamed kale, and pour into ice cube trays. Freeze them overnight, and bag them up for future use. The frozen cubes also help to thicken the smoothie!

A magic bullet or blender is needed.

Try mixing up your fruit and greens flavors.

Combinations that work well: 1) Strawberries, blueberries, banana, kale cube, and vanilla almond milk.

2)Strawberries, raspberries, spinach cube, vanilla almond milk, with honey.

3)Pineapple, kale cube, mango, and vanilla almond milk.

( Quick Tip: Add 1/2 cup of frozen fruit to the smoothie, to thicken, and keep cool! )
