Summer Arts Intensive Programs are a hot trend

As a parent, I'm always on the look out for the right activity for Summer break to keep my children creatively interested and their physical needs met. With students who have participated on a daily routine set forth by an academic director for the entire year, it's easy to think that sleeping the Summer away is okay, but it's still vitally important to keep some disciplines in place. Even when your student is old enough to stay home on their own, just letting the time slip by without any structure can be a bad habit for the long Summer months. Although it is important for students to have a break from the pressures of academic classes, it's also necessary to get fresh air and exercise while staying out of trouble.

Every Summer The Tyler Project has a great Summer Intensive on the campus of Millikan Middle School. Indira Tyler who heads up the program, brings in skilled teachers from the different area Performing Arts schools to teach music, dance, voice and drama to interested students in the Sherman Oaks area.

From June 15th 2013 through July 13th, 2013, The Tyler Project will have their Summer Performing Arts Intensive classes in session. Registration information and sign up is available now for students who are interested in one or all three weeks of fun arts activities.
