When the deputies spoke with the driver of the car, Amber M. Young, 23, 2111 Trailer Street, Lot # 10, Sulphur, she began to act suspiciously. After receiving consent from Young, deputies conducted a search of her car and recovered nine bags containing methamphetamine, numerous prescription pills including Somas, Xanax and Trazodone (anti-depressant), a semi-automatic handgun, a postal digital scales and drug paraphernalia.

After running the serial number of the recovered handgun through NCIC, deputies discovered it had been recently reported stolen through Sulphur Police Department.

Young was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of CDS II (crystal meth) with intent to distribute; possession of CDS IV; possession of a legend drug; illegal possession of a stolen firearm; illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
