Daniel Hardman: “I like to establish my own facts.”
Mike: “Or manufacture them.”
“He’s Back” is the newest episode of Suits. If you haven’t seen the episode, then beware of spoilers. To review last week's case file, click here. Suits airs Thursday nights at 9 on USA, channel 21 for Houstonians.
Daniel Hardman is back, and his goal is to wreck destruction. He is representing Monica Eaton in her case for wrongful termination. You may remember Monica as the woman he slept with way back when he was embezzling. This is definitely an interesting way to bring Hardman back. The writers could have made him just as evil on a different case, but they decide to have him go up against Pearson Hardman in a more personal manner. This is both a good and bad thing. It is drudging up things that maybe should have stayed in the past. Clearly Hardman is devious enough to make any case a personal attack. What do you think? Did you enjoy Hardman’s personal attack or would you rather see him on the case from last week?
There are great character moments in this episode. Harvey, for once, is the calm and collected one. Normally Jessica has to rein him in, but in this episode it is the other way around. It’s a different situation to see the two of them in, and it’s great to see how the dynamic shifts a bit. Another one of the great things about this episode is Mike sort of steps up a bit more, and he’s more involved with Harvey and Jessica. Normally, Harvey and Jessica are off on their own for parts of it. This time, however, Mike is at the adult table a little more. Which character did you enjoy the most in the episode?
The side storyline of the episode is Rachel applying to Harvard. Now it’s a nice continuation of the previous episode, where viewers meet Rachel’s father. This isn’t really a humorous storyline, but it does lighten the episode more and give it some heart. Rachel and Mike’s friendship is a big part of it. It’s nice that their romantic relationship isn’t a factor at all. There will always be traces of it with their relationship, but in this episode the friendship is the focus. Did you enjoy Rachel’s storyline or do you wish the writers focused more on the Hardman drama?
