'Suits' goes up against Rachel's father

Harvey: “This better not end up with you in bed with her, telling her your secret.”

Mike: “Not a problem. We will do it on the couch. Wow that was not respectful to you, me, or her.”

“Zane vs. Zane” is the newest episode of Suits. If you haven’t seen the episode, then beware of spoilers. To review last week's case file, click here. Suits airs Thursday nights at 9 on USA, channel 21 for Houstonians.

In this episode we meet Rachel’s dad, Robert. Before this episode, not a lot was known about Rachel, and so it is great to learn something about her family. Really all that viewers learn is that Rachel doesn’t have the best relationship with her father, but it is more than we knew before. Plus the writers really use this as a chance to put Harvey and Rachel in some one on one scenes. It’s a new dynamic to watch. Hopefully this is just the beginning of writers starting to flesh out some of the other characters. It would be great to see more of people’s family lives. Did you enjoy learning more about Rachel?

The case also continues to highlight the issues that the firm is facing. The last episode featured firms poaching their lawyers and clients. Robert tries to not only wear out Pearson Hardman’s resources (or at least threaten to), but he also proposes a merger. The writers are doing a good job of showing just how many ways people can come after them. However, right now all of these threats don’t make it past Harvey and Jessica. It would be interesting to see something that gets more of the entire firm involved somehow. Maybe they become aware of something and Jessica has to address everyone or just do damage control. The entire firm is weak, and even though Suits mainly follows a certain group of lawyers, there are more people at the firm. What would you like to see?

Louis decides it is time to introduce himself to Katerina. Their first meeting doesn’t really go over well. That’s an understatement really. Louis starts up another war. Seeing Louis in war mode is always great, and seeing him going up against someone different. He’s gone up against Mike and Harvey numerous times, and now it is more of a serious attack whereas his battle with Katerina is a lot of fun. It’s an interesting way to bring her back into the mix of the show, and it allows the writers to show more of what kind of person she is. Did you love watching Louis and Katerina battle it out?
