Suite 106 helps revive the open mic poetry scene in Jackson, MS

Nathan Harper, Phillip Rollins and Jason Thompson have put their minds, business savvy and collective talents together to help to revive the Open Mic poetry scene in Jackson, MS by coordinating open mic night at the popular lounge, Suite 106.

Harper, whose works have been published in Black Magnolias literary journal, and the good folks at Suite 106 are striving for longevity by instituting House Poets that can be expected to perform each week. These artists will also offer diverse workshops to engage aspiring artists in the writing and performing process.

Poetry is held at Suite 106 every Sunday at 6pm sharp. The cover is $3 if you want to get on the mic and $5 if you just want to enjoy the amazing talent. Ultimately, the success of poetry at Suite 106 and any other open mic night depends on the support of the people. Mark your calendar, update your smart phone and make your way to Suite106 located at 106 Wilmington Street in Jackson, MS next Sunday.
