For those who think the number 13, and Friday the 13th, are unlucky . . . well, that won't even begin to describe what's scheduled to happen in San Antonio on that date.
Forget unlucky. Try cyco.
Longtime moshing skateboarders Suicidal Tendencies announced this afternoon a return to the Alamo City on Friday, Dec. 13 at Backstage Live, with fellow Los Angeles metalcore act Terror providing support with Thrash Talk and French band The Inspector Cluzo. Terror was at Backstage Live as part of the annual All-Stars tour on Aug. 9 (see the SAMME's coverage here).
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday (details below) with a $13 ticket special applicable for the first two weeks online only. The password is: earlybird13.
The Slam City Fall Tour will also stop at Mohawk in Austin on Thurs. Dec. 12, with tickets also on sale Friday (click here).
The Backstage Live gig serves as a homecoming for Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Dean Pleasants (standing second from left), who attended Sam Houston High School. Pleasants will be premiering his solo CD at the show.
Fronted since the early '80s by Mike Muir, who remains the band's lone original member, Suicidal Tendencies possesses a slew of songs moshers have been breaking bones to including Possessed To Skate, Trip at the Brain, How Will I Laugh Tomorrow . . . When I Can't Even Smile Today, Join the Army, Send Me Your Money, You Can't Bring Me Down, Nobody Hears, Gotta Kill Captain Stupid, Feel Like S---, Memories of Tomorrow (also covered by Slayer), Disco's Out, Murder's In and of course the 1988 classic Institutionalized.
Suicidal Tendencies released their first CD in 13 years, appropriately enough entitled 13, in March.
It's been a long time since Suicidal Tendencies was heard from live around San Antonio, and this concert will be a prime opportunity to see which of its Texas fans are truly "Suicidal for life."
