Knight was stopped for a misdemeanor traffic violation but he had an outstanding warrant so he was taken into custody at the Los Angeles County Jail. It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning and he was held on $20,000 bail.
He was released before 4:00 a.m.
This is far from the first time that the 48-year-old Suge Knight has come face-to-face with authorities.
Back in Feb. of 2012, Knight was ticketed by the Las Vegas police for making unsafe lane changes. Police also had found less than an ounce of marijuana in his black Bentley.
In Dec. of 2010, Knight was arrested at an outdoor shopping mall in Los Angeles. That arrest was for failing to appear in court for a traffic violation. At the same time, Suge Knight had a warrant issued for his failure to appear.
The co-founder of Death Row Records was also sentenced to three years of probation in 2011 for driving without a license.
His most lengthy prison sentence came in 1997 when he went to jail for nine years for violating the terms of probation from an earlier assault case. After serving less than five years, he was released in 2001, but sent back in 2003 for violating parole due to hitting a parking lot attendant.
