It's been a great year for HARRA's Houston Marathon Warm-Up Series. The weather for all events was excellent for racing except perhaps for the USA Space Center 10-Miler, which was a bit on the warm side.

Indeed, last Sunday's 30K was a runner's dream. Saturday was too warm, race day Sunday was perfect, and Monday would have been a bit on the chilly side. Talk about ideal thermal bookmarks! And as usual, Andy and crew did a great job of race hosting.

In the female open category, Heidy Lozano took the top spot with a time of 2:03:59.5, a 6:40 pace. It says something about talent (or having the right genes) when a masters runner hammers the entire open female field.

For open males, a chip time of 1:40:20.1 was enough for Patrick Rotich to take the gold. Go here for full age group results. Go here for race video and pics.

Since the 2010 warm-up series is a wrap, what's next? The Marathon for those lucky enough to get in via the new lottery, HARRA reserved slots, or by being a veteran (marathon that is, not military). This traditional Houston event will be on Sunday, 1/30/11.
