The Sugar House Farmers’ Market is going strong at the end of the second of its three month first year run. By all accounts, residents and visitors have enjoyed the opportunity to stroll through Sugar House, sample and purchase vendor products, and chat with friends, neighbors and participating vendors as they enjoy the Farmers’ Market.
Now that fall is almost here, there are more fresh produce items to purchase and cooler weather, though dusk is coming a bit earlier as well.
The Imperial Park Promoters will be the featured non-profit participant this week, giving them an opportunity to spread the news of their goal to purchase property at 1560 Atkin Avenue, the former site of an LDS Ward, to build a (Wilford) neighborhood park, to a wider group of Sugar House residents.
Just a few of the many featured vendors at this week’s Sugar House Farmers’ Market include:
- Whole Food Market in Sugar House – offering free samples of many of its products
- House of Bread – take home a loaf of freshly baked bread – mmm!
- That’s My Dogg – serving up delicious, locally made Colosimo sausages – oh yeah!
- Lucky Planet Creamery – pick up a free 2.5 oz. sample of pre-packaged premium ice-cream
Entertainment will be provided by Sugar Mountain Revival, self-described as ‘a diverse group of musicians dedicated to a lively mix of harmonic country, folk and blues,’ featuring ‘four strong voices, two guitars, quality keyboard and percussion . . . [who enjoy] performing popular acoustic music from various genres.’
So, if you haven’t yet visited the Sugar House Farmers’ Market, ‘Come on down!’ Open Fridays between 3;00 p.m. until dusk through October 15.
