Mom Baby God makes its Midwest premiere on Thursday, October 24 and Saturday, October 26, at Gorilla Tango Bucktown on 1919 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago.
Directed by New York-based artist Emma Weinstein, the Double LTR Productions play features Boston-based performer and playwright Madeline Burrows, who embodies multiple characters from priests to abstinence-only sex educators to offer humorous perspectives on the anti-abortion movement.
Mom Baby God is based on a year of research and interviews at anti-abortion conferences, fundraisers, and rallies. Inspired by recent legislation, the play spotlights reproductive rights advocacy and provides an optional 30-minute talk-back after each performance.
Tickets are $17 in advance, $25 at the door and can be purchased at www.gorillatango.com or by calling 773-598-4549.
