Suffocation bring bedlam to Boise April 11: Exhumed, Jungle Rot at The Venue (Photos)

New York’s legendary death metal titans, Suffocation, will be bringing bedlam to Boise on Thursday April 11 with their Despise the World tour. To add brutality to the event they will bring with them, Exhumed, Jungle Rot, Rings of Saturn, and Adimiron. The event will detonate from the stage of The Venue. Tickets can be purchased here.

Boise fans will be privy to an extra bit of diabolical deviance as Dying Fetus vocalist John Gallagher will front the band when Suffocation passes through town. Gallagher will be temporarily taking the place of vocalist Frank Mullen due to his other personal commitments.

“I’m looking forward to seeing our amazing fans on the road,” commented Mullen. “John Gallagher from Dying Fetus will be filling in for a few shows that I can’t do and I'm sure he will do an awesome job. So please show your support for him and the band!”

“I'm stoked to be performing on several shows with longtime friends and my brothers in metal, Suffocation,” added Gallagher. “It's going to be a blast and since I'll JUST be singing the vocals, they are going to be super sick and guttural. So make sure to come out and party with us and witness the brutality!”

While the City of Trees will miss Mullen, we are one of only seven performances that will enjoy this extra special collaboration: A once in a lifetime event.

Suffocation are touring in support of the band’s monstrous new release, “Pinnacle of Bedlam” which sold 3,213 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release. That puts the band at #152 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and at #2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) Chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

View the video clip for the song “As Grace Descends” here. The clip was shot by director Tommy Jones (Kataklysm, Soilwork, Death Angel), at Duff’s in Brooklyn, NY where several fans showed up for the filming. A short documentary chronicling the making of the clip can be viewed here.

Suffocation were among the inductees for this year's class of the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame.

Last month The Examiner talked with Suffocation bassist Derek Boyer about the new album, the state of America, and much more. You can listen to the full interview below.

In 2010, San Jose, California death metal legends, Exhumed were reformed by founding guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey who was only 15 when the band was started over two decades ago. Exhumed released its beastly new album, “All Guts, No Glory” in 2011.These days Harvey is joined by drummer Michael Hamilton, guitarist Bud Burke, and bassist Bob 'BodyBag' Babcock. The band was denied entry to Canada this winter.

Wisconsin’s death metal hooligans, Jungle Rot will be releasing their seventh studio effort, “Terror Regime” this spring. Founded in 1994, the knuckle-dragging quartet throws down metal that is teeming with despair, brutality, darkness and volatility. The style and approach Jungle Rot exposes the public to is one of efficiency and execution that has been perfected over the years.

Bay Area deathcore contingent, Rings of Saturn is touring in support of its sophomore album, “Dingir” which was released last month. The album was originally due out in 2012, but legal battles over the band’s name delayed the release.

Italy’s Adimiron will be kicking off the show. The quintet is touring in support of its 2011 release, “K2”.
