AISD candidate for Position 6, Sue Stringer visited with the congregation of Light Christian Center today during their Annual BBQ and Auction in support of their youth activities. Sue, when asked why she's running for AISD School Board, said that she is a concerned grandmother ready to make tough choices for this community. Sue feels strongly that it is possible to provide a good education while cutting the AISD budget like the rest of America is having to do. Her platform states clearly that she wants fiscal responsibility, a focus on basic skills and quality education. Sue states that, "the budget must be reviewed to identify and eliminate unnecessary and unreasonable expenses while preserving expenditures that are directly related to the learning process." Her background in financial planning makes Sue an ideal candidate to take on this difficult task.
Sue Stringer is a licensed insurance agent and CEO of Liberty Road Financial. Sue earned a degree in Business Management from Alvin Community College and holds a Master in Estate Preservation from Abts Institute of Estate Preservation, and was a member of the inaugural training program for the National Institute for Domestic Partner Estate Planning. She is a member in good standing with The National Ethics Bureau. Sue attends the First United Methodist Church in Alvin.
The City of Alvin, and AISD School Board elections are to be held on May 14th, with early voting May 2nd -10th. It is important that the citizens in these districts actively participate in the selection of their leaders.
