Successful swap meet with one of Red's best biker stories (slide show)

Sunday’s Swap Meet at Will Rogers Expo Center was one of the finest shows ever.  The venue was inside, however, the weather was so beautiful, inside or outside wouldn’t have made any difference.  The showcase of merchants was astounding and the customers were abundant.

One thing about the Dallas Biker Community, it never comes up short in its ability to produce an interesting, adventuresome, colorful, witty and insightful populace. This particular show had something for everyone - old school bikers to RUBs - guys to gals. The slide show caught a fine sampling of what you could find.  Pay especially good attention to the last few pictures of an 'old gal' the guys ran across, that can be obtained about mid way through her restoration.  If you could have been a fly on the wall, you would have seen these men fondle and drool over this beautiful Shovel Head Chopper Hard Tail.  Aaaaahhh!  (see slide show)

Among this witty and insightful populace is Red and Eve Roberts - 'Promoters Extraordinaire'.  They could by now, execute a top notched event with their eyes closed but they’re too busy being ‘real people’ – keeping in touch with the masses they serve.  If one could ever garner a few minutes of Red’s time when he could lean back in a chair and reminisce – one could go away with a complete library of colorful and witty stories whirling in carrousel fashion in their heads.  It would be an experience not soon forgotten.

Red related one such story to this reporter in 2010 – one that only real bikers can relate to and understand the logic that Red dishes up on a platter. Click Here for one of the most interesting ‘Biker Stories’ you’ll run across.  For ‘biker hang-arounds’, this is one story you’ll find yourself repeating.

For Southern Texas bikers, you’ll have your turn to visit Houston’s Antique, Touring and Custom Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet next month at Humble Civic Center.  It will be held Sunday, March 11th.  You can always visit www.TexasScooterTimes.com to keep up on all the activities.

One event you won’t want to miss that is one of my favorites will be April 1st.  The All Motorcycle Drags at Little River Dragway is much loved for all Harley Drag Racers.  Mark your calendar and visit the web site for details – you won’t want to miss this awesome party.  Like Red says, Little River is a beautiful family park with giant shade trees and a race track that runs through the middle of it.  It’s one of the best ‘family friendly’ events of the year.  You can bring your motor home or pup tent and be comfortable.
