Barret Beyer never imagined he would have a career as a chef. As a Long Island native who joined the United States Coast Guard, the idea of working 16-hour days in the kitchen and loving it seemed ludicrous. Barret has always had the knack for cooking, and after joining the United States Coast Guard and being responsible for kitchen management and serving his counterparts, he considered a new career path. With his mother’s encouragement, he enrolled at Star Career Academy to learn the art of culinary.
Star Career Academy appealed to Chef Barret because of its affordability and flexible class schedules. Barret’s passion and dedication to succeed professionally resulted in graduating from Star Career Academy at the top of his class. Barret took charge of his education as well as full advantage of all Star had to offer by arriving early and staying late.
Upon graduation from Star Career Academy, Chef Barret was selected to participate on the food network’s series CHOPPED. This experience increased his desire to become a leader in the culinary industry. Chef Barret’s participation in Hell’s Kitchen Season 11 pushed him to the spotlight. Because of his excellent performance he quickly become a fan favorite and which soon opened many doors.
Barret used his celebrity chef platform to help out in his community through different community service projects. He has taken it upon himself to help food victims of the super storm sandy as well as the Oklahoma tornado victims where he helped cook and raise money. Chef now conducts cooking demonstrations as well as owns a catering business.
