Subway foot long subs cheat customers out of one inch of their sandwiches (Video)

There is a big controversy happening right now and consumers are up in arms from being deceived when they purchase a Subway foot long submarine sandwich. Yahoo News reported on Jan. 18 as well as The Hollywood Gossip on Jan. 17 that the sub sandwiches that claim to be a foot long are actually eleven inches long in length instead.

Subway has over 38,000 restaurants across the nation. They do bake their own bread fresh daily. Since the internet is a buzz about the difference in the sandwich size it has gotten the attention of Subway and they do plan on looking into the matter. The last thing they want to do is cheat their customers or cause a ruckus regarding false advertising.

This all began when Mark Corby posted a photo of a foot long sub he purchased on Facebook. He posted the photo to the Subway site on Facebook. He took out a ruler and measured the sandwich. Why he decided to measure the sandwich is unknown. It may be possible the sandwich looked smaller to him. Subway, like all other companies are trying to do business from a cost effective view point. This may have been a way to cut costs without raising prices for the consumers. We’ll all be interested in learning why the rolls are shorter than they are advertised to be once Subway responds to the complaint that is being made by many who purchase regularly from their sandwich shops.

When Mark Corby posted the photo to Facebook the post received over 100,000 likes and many comments from customers who were upset to have this revelation come to light. The original post is no longer visible on Facebook. Evidently Mark may have removed the post himself or someone else. Rumor has it that Subway did not remove that post from their company Facebook page.

Hopefully this dilemma will be resolved soon as many people enjoy all the various types of sandwiches from Subway. The price is one that is very affordable and allows families to eat out, get a good and filling meal without breaking the bank.

Just a reminder: A foot equals twelve inches and not eleven. We have all learned that in school from early on in grade school. Why the difference in how long a foot long is now is being looked into. Consumers are hoping that Subway goes back to baking twelve inch long rolls from now on. Then all the viral talks can stop so customers can continue to enjoy the sub sandwich they like best.

The local Jackson Subway is located at 2810 College Avenue (251) 246-5188.
