"Suburban Madness" is a based on a true story Lifetime movie. The murder of David Lynn Harris by his wife Clara Harris inspired the movie. Most of the real names remained the same in the film. The movie premiered in 2004 starring Sela Ward and Elizabeth Pena.
"Suburban Madness" is about a woman who seems to be living the perfect life until she finds out that her husband has taken a mistress. After doing everything she can to get her husband back, poor Clara is driven over the edge when she finds her husband in a hotel with his lover.
According to The Movies Based On True Story Archives, Clara Harris' case made headlines when she ran over her husband with her vehicle. The entire incident was caught on video.
Police say in 2002, the man's wife was so overcome with anger upon seeing her husband with his lover that she jumped in her car, waited for him to come out and ran over him repeatedly with the car.
Clara Harris was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2003.
