Even though the information printed about the impending blackout by Time Warner Cable didn’t occur yesterday afternoon as the disagreement with CBS reached a deadlock, The information received by the chat representative of the cable company online yesterday was not incorrect. What upset me was that no one in the Wichita Falls, area were unaware of the dispute or just didn’t care. When the stations that were going dark didn’t, it made me feel as if the wrong information was in my inbox. The email and what it offered could’ve been recapped here
- My area was really toward the metroplex.
- This person assumed my zip code was in or around the Dallas, Texas area
Until my article on the impending blackout was written yesterday over this dispute, it was unknown who started it first. While the finger pointing didn’t matter, the article that was seen today made this dispute look really bad for Time Warner Cable. because of pending multiple class action suits by its nationwide subscribers.
According to the Moonves, the statement in the memo said this:
- In many aspects of the deal, Time Warner Cable demanded different terms than any other company in the business. He [Moonves] was frankly mystified by what seemed to be a lack of urgency in resolving this matter for their customers.
Verizon might have had more subscribers in the New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas, but subscribers to TWC had been blacked out for three weeks in those areas. My stance on what the Bible said about disputes still held. Why had TWC acted non-threatened by CBS and the way they reacted to having had their channels removed? Retaliation by the Eye was blocking TWC subscribers from watching television shows on the site. It remained a mystery to me why my cable company decided to send its subscribers notice of the blackout after midnight yesterday instead of when it started three weeks ago?
According to the article links, it was reported that even with this blackout, rating hits to CBS had been minimal. My church friend told me that if this dispute hadn’t occurred, TWC rates would’ve been sky high. That went against what the notice said after midnight yesterday also. TWC was in the business of keeping rates affordable to its members.
In the last year, they have called me trying to get me to get another set of premium movie channels in addition to my Starz Encore subscription, which was all that was afforded by me. After the second call, the telemarketer laughed when it was explained to him that most of the movies seen on the channels paid for by me were moved around to other channels not seen by me. The only shows missed were those exclusive to the channels not paid for by me. BBC America began broadcasting “The Tudors” series exclusive to Showtime a few years back. After they beheaded Anne Boleyn, my interest was lost in the show.
At this time, it appeared that Showtime was experiencing the same trouble with Time Warner Cable because they were shut down too in Palm Coast, Florida because Bright House didn’t carry them there. This cable subscriber wondered what group of channels were up on the chopping block next? Either way, the Bible verses used in the previous article by me stood in this one. This subscriber wondered the outcome of all these disputes.
