Subdivision regulators to hold meetings in Glendive, Sidney, Culbertson

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will be holding three public meetings in eastern Montana to discuss permitting requirements and procedures for subdivisions and public water supplies in response to increasing demand for housing in areas of oil and gas development.

Department staff will be discussing the Sanitation in Subdivisions Act, creating new lots, recreational vehicle camps, trailer courts, and the submittal and review process. Montana Public Water Supply Laws will also be discussed including how public water supply systems are defined, options for water supply and wastewater treatment and the steps to permitting. Additional discussion will include licensing by the Department of Public Health and Human Services and local (county) permitting. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer session.

The meetings will be held in Glendive on January 31, 6:00 PM at CC's Family Café conference room; in Sidney on February 1, 2:00 pm at the Richland County Health Department, and in Culbertson on February 2, 2012, 2:00 pm at the Roosevelt County Complex.
