Ever since I went to their Boston launch party, I have been in love with 2 Ginger's Irish Whiskey. I am an Irish gal myself and it goes without saying that I love a good whiskey -- and so does my stepdad.
Hence, as an early Father's Day gift to him, we cracked open the bottle and began experimenting with 2 Gingers long list of specialty cocktails that can be made with this award-winning spirit.
The 'Irish Snapper' as it was called is 1.5 parts 2 GINGERS® Whiskey, small splash peach liqueur, and topped off with cranberry juice. It is a great introductory way to experience whiskey. It is light, fruity but still carries the serious edge that only whiskey provides. It finishes nicely with vanilla and cinnamon notes.
The 'Big Ginger' appealed to him right away. Just 2 Gingers and ginger-ale topped with a squeeze of lemon and lime. It transforms the whiskey into a light effervescent summer drink. The lemon and lime cut the alcohol just enough to allow for the perfect balanced flavor profile.
About 2 Gingers:
GINGERS® whiskey is faithfully distilled at the famed Kilbeggan Distillery in Ireland, formerly called the Cooley Distillery. It is smooth, malty, and slightly sweet to start, with a tingle of honey and citrus. The woody essence of this four-year-aged blend suggests caramel and vanilla to the finish.
