The Nikki Darling boutique was buzzing with anticipation last Saturday as many ladies turned out to refresh and renew their wardrobes on a dime at the SWAPnista Designer fashion swap event. While waiting for the swap closet to open, many browsed the shoes and accessories for sale from vendors while others took advantage of onsite brow threading or the firm hands offered at the chair massage. DJ Mello provided the musical background for the event to keep the room lively on the musical front. At around 6:30, the first group of ladies hit the racks to use their swap bucks to take home with them the new found possibilities of each fashion piece.
The consignment event provided a great opportunity for many women to get out with a girlfriend, sip a glass of wine, and chat about fun topics like fashion. At the beginning of the evening, I brought in three dresses, two never worn and one item worn once. For my evening’s haul, I did not do badly for myself taking away six items including a leather coat. The brands of the items included Express and Guess and all of the items were in good condition.
Today, it is still important to save money and being creative puts a spin on fun ways to do it. Clothing swaps can help save money. If you are a consignment shopper, consider hosting a swap party in your home to add to the “shopping” experience while enjoying the company of friends. At home clothing swap parties are easy to plan and I have some helpful tips included at this link.
