Having written articles in the past about StyleWeek Providence, the brainchild of Rosanna Ortiz Sinel, and having attended every show since it's inception, we have noticed a shift occurring. It is helping create strong connections and community with style and grace.
This week-long event ran this year from August 29-Sept. 3, 2011 featuring some of the Northeast's finest designers. Having attended everyday and every after party, my focus was on listening and observing.
The results of this event is the community that it is creating and the opportunity for so many to shine and not just in fashion. This platform that is StyleWeek is giving both designers and local business owners a much needed voice during a time when we need it the most.
When you see people coming together, volunteering, assisting and helping make connections, the end result warms your heart. Business has changed and so has how we approach it. It is about people -- it always has been.
Without connections, without people talking about you, your brand, your company or your message, if you do not have this element, at the end of the day you have nothing. StyleWeek Providence makes you want to help others because it helps so many people, is such a fantastic platform, and not just in the fashion and design world. It is helping an entire region of the USA and so many entrepreneurs.
What Rossanna Ortiz Sinel has created and is creating with goals of expansion is nothing short of brilliant.
From a public relations and marketing point of view, when you are able to create a week-long day and evening event that is fully supported, you have struck gold.
The team that is behind StyleWeek Providence are passionate and dedicated people. This has been my observation and the observation of many from the very beginning and has not changed despite the growth they are experiencing.
Excitement will continue to grow as we await the next StyleWeek which will be held January 29-Febuary 4, 2012.
