What are 3 words that describe your personal style? Moody, practical, and spontaneous.
Describe your blog: Living Simplistically is my virtual baby. LS houses all of my thoughts, my desire to help create a positive world, and to share. I share outfit posts, travels, positive quotes, my photography, hair-styling tips, recipes, ideas, and quotes. I don't think we share enough in this world so I share whatever I believe can either help, or inspire others to be their best. As I evolve, I find my blog is evolving. We will see how my baby grows in the upcoming year.
Who or what has been your greatest inspiration when it comes to hair, fashion, or style in general? For fashion inspiration I would have to say Solange hands down. However, I love Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific, oh and Karla Deras of Karla's Closet. All three of their styles are flawless, effortless, and timeless. For my hair inspiration I would have to say...I honestly don't have a hair inspiration. Is that bad? I have learned to appreciate the unique, varied textures, and versatility of natural hair. I understand my hair will not look like everyone's and I am perfectly cool with that. This is probably the reason (both good and bad) of why I love natural hair; it's different yet not perfect. I do love how "healthy" vlogger Whitney's hair of Naptural85 looks. If anything I am inspired by the health of her hair.
What is your favorite way to style your hair? I'm not sure I should say putting it in a bun is my favorite, but it is definitely a huge habit of mine from when I use to dance professionally. Outside of this I would say I love wearing my hair twisted out. The definition, the shine, the volume...I die!
What are some of your go-to products or product lines? Drum roll please...I am in LOVE with Trader Joe's Nourish Conditioner. The slip is amazing; the moisture factor is out of this world. This conditioner is straight DY-NO-MITE! A product line I am currently obsessed with is the As I Am products. I wrote a song about it, you wanna hear? No, seriously. The Coconut Co-wash is my must-have item, in addition to the Smoothing Gel. The Shea Moistures Reconstruction line took a back seat. I also love aloe vera gel for styling, virgin coconut oil and Jamaican black castor oil to seal my ends. I have a slight product hopping problem, but I am learning to limit my trips and to stick with what works. My hair is happier with consistency.
What winter style trend are you most excited about? Chunky sweaters, ankle booties, Tartan, faux leather (because I try hard not to buy/wear leather), prints, pinks, and some men's inspired wear.
