Most Men's Style magazines nowadays have models wearing clothes from fashion houses that are too expensive to wear and when specifically speaking about the Miami Man, not usable in tropical climates. The models don't look anything like an average male on the streets in Miami or anywhere else in the U.S. It can be directly correlated with the reason why men take the opposite extremes of the style spectrum: either too lazy or too dressy. Men have no basis to develop their style and are caught between either following too many trends or giving up completely, dressing in flip flops and muscle shirts to run errands.
Style magazines such as Esquire, GQ or Details should tailor their magazines more towards helping an average working professional develop his own style. Wrangler Jeans, in their commercials, show average men playing football wearing their jeans but a mainstream campaign to cover a man's wardrobe completely should be undertaken. For many years, Miami was the 'winter vacation capital' of the U.S. so a complete wardrobe was never needed. Now the need arises but without a true reference, Miami men must find out on their own in many store fitting rooms their own style.
