Everywhere I look in the news whether on television on in the local paper I am amazed at what we are now calling news, who is dating who or sleeping with, divorcing, suing, cheating, overspending, you name it seems to be in the news more so than what I would actually consider to be REAL NEWS. With all of those who are really in need it would be nice to see more stories promoting how we can truly help those in need, instead of promoting those who are famous for who knows what to begin with. I don't care about who the Kardashian sisters or mom are sleeping with or not sleeping with, I don't care about Lady GaGa who is as far from being a real lady as anyone can get. I don't care about Jennifer Lopez and her ex and who they are dating now in the past or in the future. What have we allowed to happen to substance in our world? Have we lowered our standards to the point of not having any at all? With so many children and animals in need all over the world it seems those stories would take first priority over anything else but I think I am rare to feel that way, so many seem to thrive on the misery of others, the dirty gossip and laundry, rather than ways we can truly try to help those who are homeless and hungry and in despair. So many are caught up in their own little worlds to busy to stop and take notice of the stray animal or child sitting lonely in a hospital or foster home, or the elderly sitting in retirement homes with no family to ever visit them or take them home for the holidays or any other day for that matter. Have we given up on trying to change for the better because it is much easier to follow than to lead? Shelter animals and children as well as our elderly only want to be loved, not forgotten about and pushed to the side as if their lives hold no value. All we have to do is look at the quality of everything we allow in our own lives and in our world and we can see that for most it is just that easier to follow then to stand out against what seems to be the general consensus. TV is about junk, who is sleeping with who and who is cheating on who and so on and so on, we have allowed so much junk to consume our lives we don't know how to take back control and stop it, after all it seems to sell big money and for many, that is what counts. It seems to be about tooting how many houses and cars and pairs of shoes one owns rather than stepping off of your high horse and really making a difference in the lives of many in need. What good is it really? to have millions of dollars in a bank and more houses than u can live in, more cars than days of the week and more shoes and clothes than one person needs for every day of the year while so many are homeless and starving and have no medical care for when they are sick? I guess I will always be poor because I seem to give more than I really have now but to me I have never cared about keeping up with what is popular or fashionable or even tolerated. I follow my own heart and always have. I cannot look the other way and not care, I have to look head on and make it known I care a great deal, I will never push it on to someone else to fight harder than I am willing to fight myself, I will never ask of others what I myself am not willing to give and give whole heartedly. I don't accept now nor will I ever accept that the killing of innocent animals is acceptable, or that it is okay for any child to not have a home filled with love and medical care, unless we all stand together and fight to change what we feel is an injustice to ourselves or to others, nothing will change, the sad thing is unless someone is directly affected, they don't seem to care that others are affected greatly. We have been for to long a very selfish, spoiled society and it seems to be getting worse and living in denial won't change it anytime soon. Ignorance is not an excuse to not take a strong stand towards something in this world and try to make it right, to many think by not acknowledging what is going on they are free of any blame that it is going on to begin with. We all share this world together and it is up to each and every single one of us to show how thankful we are for so many blessings by constantly and consistently paying kindness forward. Oh what a perfect world it would be or at least half perfect.
