Stuff Em

Christmas is over. Time to put away the decorations. Egad, how do I put away all those lights?

I stumbled on this nifty idea a few years ago when coiling up the Christmas lights and thinking about the tangled mess I would have to deal with again next Christmas. Then it struck me--- STUFF EM! You folks who own climbing ropes are probably familiar with this method of packing away the rope. You just grab an end and start stuffing the rope into a bag. Don’t coil it or anything; just stuff it in the bag and when its all in there leave the end hanging out. Next time you use it just grab that dangling rope end and throw the rest of the bag and your rope snakes out of there slick as you know what; no tangles, no knots, perfect and ready to use.

Well guess what. You can do the same thing with strings of Christmas lights. Okay you probably don’t want to throw the bag but the lights will pull out of that bag or sack tangle free and ready to use. So don’t bother coiling them up or sticking them back into the original container like you bought them. Just stuff em. Saves a lot of time and headache. Remember to leave the end hanging out so you start pulling them out in the right order. I leave the male plug end out. That way you can plug the string in first and then check for burned out bulbs as you pull the rest of the light string out.
