Study Tips

Well, it's that time of year again: crunch time. Or at least it will be, once students get back from Thanksgiving Break. This is the time of year when professors assign their final papers and projects, and due dates start looming overhead. Now, more than ever, it is important to just take a deep breath and relax.

Instead of worry about how you will finish the 3 papers and study for the final exams and finish a project in time, relax. That doesn't mean that you should spend time with your friends and blow off homework. It means that it is important to find a balance between work and play. Anxiety can be tough, especially in todays time when students want to impress their professors, friends, and strangers at the same time. How can one maintain a good image online, with friends, and in the classroom? Well, for starters, it is nearly impossible to have a perfect image. There is always going to be something that a person does not like about someone. That does not mean that this thing needs to be changed, or even that this person is not a good friend. All it means is that you are made with flaws. These flaws make a person more beautiful and well-rounded as individuals.

Now, back to the topic at hand: crunch time. Studying for final exams and working in the final weeks of a college semester are tough. Oftentimes there are places that one can go for help with papers. Goucher college, where I go, has the Writer's Center, and some professors agree to read drafts before a final paper is turned in. When studying for a test, it is a good idea to go by a professor's office hours to see if you are on track and to make sure you understand what is being discussed in class.

Best of luck and happy studying.
