Study finds 500,000 illegal aliens in San Francisco area alone

A new study just released by the Public Policy Institute of California has estimated that there are 563,000 illegal aliens living in the San Francisco Bay area.

Researchers largely relied on the tax return data of those who used an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, which is reserved for taxpayers who do not have a Social Security number.

The study found that within the Bay area, Santa Clara County has the most illegal aliens with 180,000, followed by Alameda County with 124,000 and Contra Costa County with 79,000.

The Public Policy Institute of California also estimates the total illegal alien population of California to be 2.9 million.

The study lists the following counties and corresponding illegal populations (all figures are based on 2008 data):

-Los Angeles…916,000

-Orange…289,000

-San Diego…198,000

-Santa Clara…180,000

-San Bernardino…150,000

-Riverside…146,000

-Alameda…124,000

-Contra Costa…79,000

-Ventura…74,000

-Sacramento…65,000

-Monterey/San Benito…62,000

The “sanctuary” policies of San Francisco and Los Angeles undoubtedly play a tremendous role in contributing to the large illegal alien presence in both areas.
