The Studio Movie Grill (SMG) locations in Houston will be offering a Special Needs Screening of the LEGO Movie on Saturday, February 15 at 11 a.m.

The Special Needs Screenings are specially chosen ‘family-friendly’ movies that are open to all special needs children and their families. The children and their siblings get free entry; adult tickets are $6. Tickets may only be purchased at the box office; they are not available online. During the Special Needs Screening, the lights are not turned off, and the sound is not turned all the way up in order to accommodate those with sensory processing issues. In addition, children are welcome to move around, talk, or even ‘dance in the aisles.’

Food will be served during the movie, as with any other showing. If families request the ‘Chefs for Children’ menu special, then 5% of the proceeds from the food orders will be donated to SMG’s nonprofits that serve families of children with special needs.

The two Houston locations:

  • SMG City Centre: 822 Town & Country Blvd., Houston, 77024; phone number 713-461-4449
  • SMG Copperfield: 8580 Highway 6 North, Houston, 77095; phone number 832-593-6684
