Students in Florida saw pornographic movie in class

Students at Atlantic High School in Florida were supposed to be watching an educational movie about the Salem Witch Trials. However, they ended up viewing a pornographic movie.

The teacher was having a difficult time getting the DVD to play. Then a student was “somehow able to play the pornographic movie.”

A School spokeswoman explained to the Daytona Beach News-Journal that the district is investigating this matter. The district obviously wants to find out who downloaded the movie and “how it ended up on the computer in the first place.”

Technology in the classroom can definitely enhance teaching and learning. However, teachers have to be extra cautious about previewing things such as movies, photos, and music before showing them to the students.

Just imagine, those students were in class to learn about the Salem Witch Trials, but unfortunately they were placed in an extremely awkward position.
