Explo Vet is a program that gives young students ages 10-12 an opportunity to learn about and understand the field of veterinary medicine and its practitioners. Students are given the opportunity to work along side some of the most acclaimed domestic and exotic animal veterinarians in the Boston area.
Explo has been running highly successful, residential and day, hands-on summer programs for more than 35 years on the campuses of Yale University, Wellesley College and St. Mark's School.
Explo Vet, a Focus Program on the campus of St. Mark's School located just outside Boston, combines Explo's renowned educational practice with the expertise of industry professionals to provide students with a one-of-a-kind experience not typically found at an ordinary school.
From the start, students will conduct nose-to-tail assessments on dogs and cats. They will learn how to measure vital signs and diagnose diseases. Students will conduct ultrasounds on animals, figure out how to accurately read X-rays and discover what it takes to treat wild and dangerous animals, such as those found in zoos. Through a course in Pet CPR, they will learn how to read the signs of distress and save an animal's life.
The goal is for students to grow more confident in their ability to become future veterinarians while enjoying the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world.

Explo runs a multitude of residential and day academic summer enrichment programs for students ages 9 through 17. Students from more than 60 countries participate in fun and creative programs in visual and performing arts, science, politics, foreign affairs, business, medicine, technology and more.
