According to The Washington Times, a high school senior has accused Nonnewaug High School in Connecticut of blocking certain Republican and Christian sites.
The student says that he can access sites like Islam-guide.com, the State Democrat Party and Planned Parenthood. But when he when to look for the NRA for research on a project about gun control, he got this message:
"This site has been blocked by the Region 14 Technology Department."
Andrew Lampart told local WTIC, “So I went over to the other side,” he told local WTIC. “And I went over on sites such as Moms Demand Action or Newtown Action Alliance, and I could get on these websites but not the others.”
Mr. Lampart then looked into the issue further.
“I immediately found out that the State Democrat website was unblocked but that the State GOP website was blocked...right-to-life” groups were blocked.
According to Lampart Christianity.com and the Vatican websites were also blocked.
Lampart said that he reported the incidents to the Woodbury school superintendent. When he received no response, he went to the Board of Education.
Board of Education Chairman told WTIC, "It's not a joking matter in terms of having access to both sides of an issue. The Board appreciated hearing the comments from Andrew and agree that he has raised an important issue that warrents further investigation."
An issue that perhaps means someone with access to the school servers believe some websites are more equal than others.
